SBA | Serbian Basketball Academy

International basketball academy in Serbia with full board for players from 13 to 20 years old
Academy partners with top Serbian basketball club «Cervena Zvezda» and sports agency «Pro Futuro Sports».
In SBA, athletes play basketball as a professionals and compete among top Serbian academies.
Scouts from NBA, NCAA, European clubs, basketball agents – regularly visit our academy.

Our mission – is to individually develop every player and provide them with opportunity to sign a professional contract or to receive a scholarship to American University.

SBA Basketball Program

The academy is based on the facilities of «FMP» basketball club, the farm team of «Cervena Zvezda».

Players compete in the teams based on their age groups, the most talented athletes have a chance to be a part of «FMP» and «Cervena Zvezda» youth teams.

SBA sports program last for 9 months during which the player, on average, play about 40 games versus Serbian sports schools / youth clubs, also participating in tournaments.

Professional work methodology at SBA creates an opportunity to maximize the potential of every player and to prepare the athlete to a professional basketball.

Features of the SBA basketball program:

Partnership with «Cervena Zvezda» and «FMP» clubs;
Balanced training process from 5 days a week, 1-2 practices a day;
Training by positions, as well as strength & conditioning preparation;
Teams compete in various age categories versus Serbian spots schools / youth clubs;
There is no limit for international players at the SBA academy;
Players may be involved in trainings with an older age;
The training process lasts from beginning of September to the end of May;
Agency supervision of the players with the purpose of helping to further sign a professional contract or to receive scholarship to high school / university in the USA.

Highlights of «Cervena Zvezda» U18 team

Education at SBA

Academy provides an opportunity to attend in-person high school located on the campus of academy.

At the completion of the high school program every academy’s student will obtain a secondary education diploma approved internationally, which would allow to enroll to any university in the world.

Athletes study following disciplines: Serbian language, English language, algebra, world history, physics, biology, geography, chemistry, informatics, social studies, etc.

Classes are held in Serbian, academy provides a tutor of Serbian language.

Additionally SBA provides an option of studying in English language.

Students can combine their education program in a SBA provided high school with their studies in schools of their home country remotely.

Important

All players (under 18) must study in a school of SBA in order to obtain a residence permit in Serbia, which allows to stay legally in Serbia during the course of the season;
Language proficiency in English or Serbian is not required for acceptance to SBA, but pre-intermediate level of English is recommended.

Living conditions at SBA

Athletes live in a comfortable dormitory on the academy’s campus, 2 people per room.

Campus is located in Zheleznik, periphery of Belgrade (capital of Serbia).

Dorm facilities are equipped with everything necessary for a comfortable and safe stay of athletes from 13 to 20 years old. Athletes are divided by the age groups.

The SBA staff (supervisor) takes care of the children around the clock and, if necessary, answer all the requests of children that relate to education and everyday life. All club staff have first aid skills and instructions in case of emergencies.

Athletes have 3 meals per day in a canteen inside of the dorm.

All boarding athletes have the necessary work space to do their homework, and the rooms are equipped with wifi.

Season 2022/2023 Yearly program – 9 Months (September – June)

Serbian Basketball Academy is a project of the Serbian notable basketball club «Cervena Zvezda».

Academy’s partner is Pro Futuro Sports - the world's leading agency for athletes placements to high schools and universities in the USA, Canada and European countries.

Pro Futuro Sports has a rich history since 2007 with more than 4,000 clients from 50+ countries around the world.

Pro Futuro Sports clients play in the NBA, NCAA, Europe's leading clubs and youth programs.

Academy’s campus is help on the facilities of «FMP» basketball club, farm team of «Cervena Zvezda». Academy’s players are coaches by the same professionals, who are coaching youth generations of «Zvezda» and «FMP».

«Cervena Zvezda» academy and Pro Futuro Sports agency are partnered up, to allow basketball players from all over the world to continue their basketball development and study in Serbia, where the potential of each player will be maximized.
